Today was something of a rest day. But only something of one.
We all had a bit of a disturbed night for various reasons, and had breakfast pretty early - pancakes again!
Then we stripped down our two boats, and we set off to Cooper's Mill. This is on Cooleenup Island, near one of the mouths of the Murray. While there we saw one of the most magnificent splendid wrens - and his mates. They put on quite a show for us! After exploring the old mill, we made our way to the mouth of the river, to give M&S a taste of what we will be experiencing tomorrow. They quite rightly wanted to turn back fairly smartly!
Heading back in, we explored the various other islands of the delta, and then went back to Pelicans for a late morning tea. And Pelicans do GF chips! Yay! Lunch followed, then M&S headed off home.
In the afternoon, Leece drew, and I fished for a bit. 8 blowies worth of 'a bit'! At one point, though, a boat came by heading upstream. One of the blokes on board held his hands apart, obviously asking how big the fish were. I gave the only possible response. I held thumb and forefinger apart!
Getting ready for dinner tonight, and packing ready for a very early start. Tomorrow we attempt the crossing. Wish us luck!
