We had a lovely long weekend stay at friends, playing boardgames, cooking and dancing. We played Splendor, Black Fleet, Tales of the Arabian Nights, This Town Ain't Big Enough for the 2-4 of us, and others. And we built a gingerbread house. A very pleasant interlude.
Ach, such hatred. I hope all the killers are found. I've had strange stare-at-your-left-ear types who don't know the difference between a gryphon and a sphinx tell me God doesn't want me to draw but I've never had some one shoot me for it and I hope that never happens. And that something like what just happened never happens again to anybody.
We saw The Hobbit: The Battle of 5 Hours last night. Reading Gold Lounge is very nice but no longer have GF desserts. A couple of choices of dip type platters for dinner though. I was jealous of Poss's fish and chips. They did have some cookies though. Not enough dragon or beasties in the film, and there was one odd continuity error, but we enjoyed it, despite the whole boss monster Sauron scene.
I am participating in the weekley photo project 52 https://plus.google.com/u/0/104228593997047885548/posts - the first subject for the year was "Depth of field" and the deconstruction of the gingerbread house we'd made up on the weekend made for a good subject in my beloved black and white.
We are looking forward to a nice relaxing stay in Fremantle over the weekend. We will be needing it.
Then the week after that is Genghiscon.
A normal weekend after that which I think might be Australia Day.
And then it's off into the hills for us the following week where we will undoubtedly broil during our practise for the Aussie Open Disc Golf Championships. Spare a thought for all the poor Finns, Germans, USians etc who will be coming from the northern hemisphere and will not be acclimated at all, poor things. It would be so much nicer in Mundaring in autumn, having this event now is just horrible. Well, it will be interesting. We'll be staying in the area a few days before the event to play the course and get our game sharper.
Then a break just before the event...and then the event. It's a gruelling course and the heat will not be on our side.
