Saw this tonight with one of my housemates.

It has the feel of the 1st one and is visually spectacular and entertaining whilst its running but could have been more tightly edited in some sections and more generously in others.

I hesitate to say "Matrix Reloaded" but...

L, R and I (which sounds like a railroad, but isn't) finally got to see this at Feet in the Air cinema (aka Glod Class) - the only way to go.

I love a good running (or should that be run over?) gag and they were in profusion; the run-away waterwheel, in particular, made us laugh out loud.  More than once.

Some very welcome return performances (I'm speaking here of the dog, of course), highly amusing anachronistic conversations and a good set up for #3.

And Ms Knightly got to do what a lot of us would REALLY like to do - snog Johnny Depp, even if he was a pirate with personal hygiene issues.

Can't wait for the next one.

Five RRRRRs and two hooks up.

But no anachronistic exploding cannonballs that I noticed, which was a relief.

OTOH the chasers on the Flying Dutchman came this close to shattering my WSOD...

It says something about me I think that I find Davy Jones with an octopus head easier to accept than:

  • Rotating tribarrelled cannon; or
  • A commodore of the Royal Navy resigning (hello? Half pay? Admiral eventually anyway?)
