I just received my new Dymocks Booklover Gold card yesterday.
It seems that they are 'improving' their loyalty scheme.
Old Booklover Scheme; For every $1 you spend you received one loyalty point. When you reached 100 = $5 discount voucher that you can spend immediately . 200 = $6 discount voucher 300 = $7 discount voucher 400 = $8 discount voucher 500 = $9 discount voucher Then the card resets back to 0.
This equalled an average of a 7.5% discount over time.
New Gold Booklover Scheme; For every $1 you spend you get 5 loyalty points. When you reached 500 = $5 discount on presentation of card the next calender day. You don't have to spend the points for two years, so can accumulate multiple points.
This equals an average of a 5% discount.
And they have the gall to go on about new and improved scheme. Bah!
The only vaguely good thing is that the existing points I have on my old card (241 worth) are being transferred across at a value of 1 for 1.
So it is worth my having spent $48.20 towards the next $5 discount instead of just $41 towards the next $7 discount.
