I decided to take a relaxed attitude to Genghiscon this year.
I'm sure that there were lots of really interesting things on in the program, and judging by the applause and laughter emanating from the rooms there must have been, but I haven't actually looked at it yet. I spent some time playing Wii games with like minded individuals and watching same, a lot of time playing Descent, Tobago, Agricola and the odd game of Martian Fluxx.
We brought our own gluten free sausages and small gas stove for Saturday evening and had a very nice picnic. The weather all convention was really good - it's usually quite hot.
Rob and I ran Kill Evil Genghis, and I spent a lot of time sprawled on the grass being a checkpoint for dead Assassins when I wasn't being Genghis, a Bodyguard or an Assassin (Evil Genghis is an equal opportunity employer .) It was very nice, actually, a real chill out from the frenetic pace of just about every convention I can think of up until now. It was nice watching the combat larp going on, and the preparations for Rebel Empire's performance.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Kill Evil Genghis game, there were some spectacular kills and defenses, and some very notable Genghises. It was certainly a very enthusiastic bunch!
A great convention, I enjoyed Punch and Judy very much too.
I do so enjoy GenghisCon. Thank you to all the wonderful committee and minions that make it possible.
